June 19, 2023
Moss Pure’s live moss wall art lasts indefinitely within our product design. With no watering, sunlight, or maintenance needed. Our award-winning and patent pending science, called The Moss Sauce, is the reason why.
Longevity of Moss Pure’s Live Moss Wall Art
Moss Pure’s live moss wall art is unique and long-lasting because of our science. We are the first and only company to use live moss in the way that we do. Most moss wall art companies use preserved moss, which is no longer living.
Bring nature to your space with 100% living moss wall art. Freshness guaranteed!
Not Your Ordinary Moss Wall Art
Most moss wall companies use preserved moss, which is no longer living. Moss Pure is the first and only live moss air filter and therapeutic stress relief device. No watering, sunlight or maintenance is needed. All while being an aesthetically pleasing decor piece for your home and office.
Why Live Moss Wall Art And Decor?
Moss Pure was created during a startup competition at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) where it won First Place Startup in its track. The United Nations then asked us to participate in their startup program and we won Top 10 Startup.
During the MIT competition, we realized that moss walls and their incredible potential health benefits were in demand. But there was a gap between what people wanted and moss companies were offering. Most moss companies use either preserved or dried moss, which are neither living nor dead, but in a dormant state. Preserved and dried moss do not provide the benefits of live moss since they are no longer alive.
Only Moss Pure’s scientifically engineered processes sustain live moss and sustain the benefits of living moss. No other company can sustain live moss for more than a few days. And no other company offers moss as an effective air filter.
How long will a Moss Pure live moss wall last?
The lifespan of a Moss Pure live moss wall is indefinitely. Our products are made to last within our products without needing watering, sunlight, or maintenance. Our patent pending and award-winning science is the reason why.
Patent pending science
We spent months experimenting with live moss and came up with a patent-pending design of eco-friendly materials that provide live moss with its needed nutrients. So, the live moss in our products don’t need to be watered and are sustained within our product design.
Improve your air quality
Our patent pending design allows live moss to use toxic chemicals in the air as its food and nutrient source. By doing this, our live moss becomes an air filter, purifying your surrounding air. And since the moss is getting its nutrients from the surrounding air, it doesn’t need watering, sunlight, or maintenance.
Natural air purifying plants such as moss will take years to filter only a fraction of your space. Our patent pending science works in synergy with live moss to increase and enhance its air purifying capabilities.
Before Moss Pure, no other company was able to use moss as an effective air filter. We are the only company to have certified analytical results showing that in just 2 minutes, our products improve your air quality, capturing carbon dioxide and toxic pollutants such as dust, allergens, volatile organic compounds, metals, certain bacteria, and viruses.

The Live Mood Moss Frame in Black will provide your space with a sense of luxury – without the price tag.
Our design process is made of up of two parts, combining both science and art. First, biology and engineering are used to create the live moss air filter. Next, interior and fashion design elements are used to create a carefully crafted, aesthetically pleasing decor piece for your space.
Moss Pure’s Moss Wall Art Reduces Stress
In 1984, Harvard renown Edward O. Wilson researched biophilic design. He found that stress and anxiety in people were reduced when visions of nature were brought into their space. Since then, several psychologists have conducted research and have found similar results.
However, biophilic design includes the visual sight of nature. Moss Pure provides you with therapeutic relief from stress by going above and beyond biophilic design. Moss Pure’s patent pending technology engages not only sight, but other senses such as touch and smell to increase the effects of biophilic design and reduce your stress and anxiety levels.
VISION:
- Most moss companies use preserved moss that is no longer living. Moss Pure uses actual live, real moss in your direct space
- We use proprietary 3D design elements and naturally occurring materials such as reclaimed wood, which makes it feel like you’re in an indoor, modern forest
- Our products are lightweight and mobile to move with you throughout your space, providing a relaxing, zen environment wherever you are
TOUCH:
- Most moss wall companies use screens or a barrier from the moss. It was critical for Moss Pure’s design to be open to allow your direct interaction with the live moss in our products, therefore providing therapeutic relief
SMELL:
- Moss Pure’s live moss smells like fresh nature, a park, and fresh cut grass. The refreshing smell creates a zen and calming environment in your space
Preserved moss – stains your hands and clothing and is no longer living.
Why Preserved Moss Wall Art Doesn’t Last
If you’ve seen a moss wall on the internet or out-and-about, it’s most likely a preserved moss wall that is no longer living. Moss Pure is the first and only company to use live moss without needing watering, sunlight, or maintenance. Many companies on the internet claim that their moss is natural and real, but it is preserved.
The preservation process requires taking live moss and drying the moss at high temperatures in an oven. Chemicals are applied to preserve the moss, and dyes are added to give a certain art or aesthetic. Even though there are less toxic chemicals that can be used to preserve the moss, the preservation process is not eco-friendly. Preserved moss cannot be used as an air filter since the moss is no longer alive.
Because it’s no longer living, preserved moss is flaky and brittle. The chemicals and dyes can stain your hands, clothing, and surrounding wall space area. You can’t use preserved moss in high humidity environments because the dyes will bleed out. Lighting and air vents can also react with the chemicals in preserved moss and it will loose it’s color and fall apart over time. The chemicals in preserved moss will give off a distinct smell as well, and this will take some time to go away.
Because of these reasons, preserved moss wall art needs periodic touch-ups to restore damaged and fallen pieces.
